Lawyers Ex Dpps Gang Up To Help Mother Unravel Fishy Death Of Her Tahfiz School Son 12 Years Ago

A FORMER deputy public prosecutor (DPP) has for the past 72 hours spent time delving into and examining a case far away in Pasir Mas, Kelantan.
Last Thursday (Feb 13), self-proclaimed centrist political activist Liyana Marzuki had the opportunity to meet a mother who has for the past 12 years been relentlessly demanding justice for her deceased child.
The mother Ruhani Hussin, 70, had received news that her son who was a Form 4 pupil at a famous tahfiz school in Maahad Tahfiz Sains Kok Lanas had died.
“She rushed to the hospital, only to see her eldest son lying there stiff. His body was rotting,” the former federal lawyer at the Attorney-Geneal’s Chambet (AGC) penned on her X account.
“The mother’s heart was broken. Her son was found hanging lifeless in the school’s toilet four days after his death.”
“She knows her son pretty well. A pious son who dreams of becoming a doctor. Obedient to his parents and kind to his friends and relatives. How could someone have the heart to kill him?”
According to Liyana, the police and the school rushed to claim that Ahmad Faris had committed suicide which the mother could not accept.
“The deceased’s body was found without pants. Surely, he wouldn’t want to depart in that manner,” the former legal and special officer to four federal ministers further revealed.
“The mother pleaded with the school and police to investigate properly. They ignored her. The deceased’s belongings were immediately thrown in the trash. They included his glasses and slippers. The mother collected them. She would store them forever.”

Liyana MarzukiInterestingly, the school toilet was demolished not long after the incident, destroying whatever evidence that could remain.
“But God would somehow ensure that justice is upheld for the oppressed,” asserted Liyana who holds a law degree from the King’s College London.
“After fighting for three years, the Coroner’s Court finally ruled that the child’s death was not a suicide. But he was MURDERED by an unknown individual.
“Nevertheless, the parents were tested again. They insisted for a written decision from the Coroner’s Court but was never served to them.”
After eight years which saw four changes of Prime Ministers, they finally wrote to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Finally, at the beginning of 2025, the much sought after report was issued. It was clearly stated that the death was not a suicide but Ahmad Faris was murdered by an unidentified person.

“As a former DPP, I ‘ve a feeling that many strange things had taken place when I read and heard this case for the first time from the deceased’s family,” revealed the Kuala Lumpur-born mother of four.
“It seems like there’ve been many cover-ups from various parties. There’re many deliberate or unintentional negligence.”
Hence, Liyana contended that it will be her intention and determination this year to fight all the way for the justice of Ahmad Faris who would otherwise be 28 today.
“How terrible it is for those who slander and insulted the deceased for having committed suicide even though he was the victim who was brutally murdered,” lamented Liyana who grew up in Ipoh’s Kampung Manjoi which is reputed to be the biggest Malay village in Malaysia.
“This is a hufaz, a memoriser and the guardian of the Al-Quran.
“So far, three senior lawyers have agreed to help with two former DPPs having also shown interest in participating. Next week, I will meet with a group of young lawyers who have pledged to fight to uphold #JusticeforWAFaris.
“This group of lawyers will not stop until justice is restored. To those of you who are reading, pray for us. Donate Al-Fatihah to brother Wan Ahmad Faris.” – Focus Malaysia
