Langkawi Mp Recounts Woman S Gory Tale Of Drug Addled Son Slashing Off Her Breast

KUALA LUMPUR: MPs were at the edge of their seats when the Langkawi lawmaker recounted a story of how a woman took of her blouse to show him how she had lost one of her breasts.
Datuk Mohd Suhaimi Abdullah (PN-Langkawi), who was the last MP to deliver his speech on the motion of thanks on the Royal Address, was speaking about the rising drug menace plaguing Malaysian youths.
He recounted an incident when he met a single mother after delivering a ceramah in Perak.
"A lady whispered to me and asked if she could see me," he said, adding that he agreed to meet the woman at her house.
Mohd Suhaimi said he told his driver to call the police if he did not come out within 15 minutes to avoid any controversy.
After entering the house, Mohd Suhaimi said the woman began telling him what happened while unbuttoning her blouse.
"I asked her: 'What are you trying to do?' She told me to keep quiet and listen to her story.
"While unbuttoning her blouse, she told me that she has a 17-year-old son who came home one day and asked for money. She knew her son was on drugs," said Mohd Suhaimi.
He said the woman told her son she did not have any money as she was not able to sell any nasi lemak due to three days of rain.
"Her son asked her four times for money but she did not give him any.
"He then went to the kitchen, took a knife, grabbed her by the chain (she was wearing) and chopped off her left breast.
"She opened her blouse and showed me her chest," he said.
Mohd Suhaimi said the wound on the single mother's breast had blackened and there were patches of yellow clumps.
When asked why it was black, the woman replied that she had put coffee powder and sugar to dry up the wound.
"She was afraid to go to the hospital because she was worried that her son would be arrested.
"This is the love of a mother – but her son was willing to chop off the breast that fed him. This was due to drugs. Muar (Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman) and Jelutong (RSN Rayer), please take action while you are in the government," he said.
Syed Saddiq and Rayer had earlier interjected Mohd Suhaimi's speech and asked several questions regarding measures to combat drug abuse.
Speaker Datuk Johari Abdul, who was presiding, was forced to cut short Mohd Suhaimi's speech as time was running out.
Mohd Suhaimi was told to continue his speech when Parliament sits again next week.
Earlier, Mohd Suhaimi was stressing the importance of combating drugs among youths, given the steady rise in drug abuse across the nation.
"If we look at the drug addiction figures from 2016 to 2020, there has been a steady rise each year," added Mohd Suhaimi.
The current Parliament meeting, which will resume next Monday, is scheduled to continue debating the motion of thanks on the Royal Address.
Budget 2023 will be tabled next Friday (Feb 24) and Parliament will be in session until March 30. - Star
