DAP lawmaker Lim Lip Eng who is perhaps dumbfounded as to how to resolve parking woes in the federal capital has been labelled as a “cybertrooper-wannabe” after posing a photo of an eatery in Jinjang which has apparently invaded no less than half a dozen public parking bays to place tables and chairs for its diners.
The two-term Kepong MP has tagged @DBKL2u (Kuala Lumpur City Hall) on on his post on X after having asked how many parking spots has the apparently famous evening chi chap chok (fried pork intestines and other innards porridge) restaurant “taken over like they own the place”.



While some comment4rs quickly tagged Federal Territories Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa as well, others teased the DAP lawmaker “for operating as a cytro by posing picture on social media and tagging the authorities” instead of “personally raising the concern with DBKL”.

Others indulged in racial slur by pointing fingers at Chinese businesses for being the regular culprits who often get away by means of dishing out undercounter money to the enforcers (which is not always the case).

Some also lamented that enforcement personnel tended to only act “against their own kind” while are seemingly having reservation to nail down Chinese-own businesses.

Others offered tip-offs on other similar offenders, namely mamak eateries and car workshops with insinuation of bribery taking place.

Some contended that they have simply given up complaining to the local authorities with one commenter highlighted that such menace is not only rampant at car park lots but also “corridors, alleys between offices and shop lot blocks” probably because “the Majlis chiefs of division and their directors are all asleep for decades”.

Some commenters called for leniency for eatery owners who operate their businesses after office hours.

Other more enterprising ones mooted the idea of fee collection in that “restaurants should be able to formally apply to convert parking spots into outdoor dining spaces” given such policy has worked for Los Angeles due to the American city’s “pleasant climate and a vibrant culinary scene”.  – Focus Malaysia
