Khalid Pn S Thoughts A Loss For Malay Muslims

Political ideas brought by Perikatan Nasional, specifically PAS - which do not emphasise the performance of states under their administration- are a significant loss to Malay Muslims and the country.
Amanah communication director Khalid Samad said the situation in PAS-led states is unlike those under Pakatan Harapan-BN, where the duty to administer is carried out by prioritising specific targets.
He claimed Harapan-BN's performance gave no reason for voters to reject them, but campaigns mounted by PN led to the federal opposition expanding its hold across the six states.
"I feel this trend brought by PN is highly harmful to Muslims and the country.
"It is a thought that is obsessed with a brand, our party, without taking into concern other achievements," said the Kelantan Amanah chief during a press conference in Kota Baru with newly elected Kota Lama assemblyperson, Dr Hafidzah Mustakim.
Hafidzah from Amanah is one of two Harapan-BN candidates who won a seat in Kelantan, the other being Mohd Syahbuddin Hashim from Umno in Galas.
Of PN'S 43 seats, only three are from Bersatu - Kok Lanas, Gual Ipoh and Nenggiri.
Sentiments and emotions
Meanwhile, in Selangor, Khalid said the Harapan state government had shown various achievements but PN's tendencies led them to win 22 out of 56 seats.
"What happened in Selangor? The government performed well, so there is no reason for the people to reject us.
"But because of the sentiments and emotions used - more to racial elements and abuse of religion - PN won up to 22 seats," said the former Shah Alam MP.
Khalid, however admitted that Harapan in Selangor could have been overconfident of its chances, based on its achievements since 2008.
Among others, he said Selangor's success can be seen in its status as Malaysia's most prosperous state and various development projects.
"So when the state election comes we waited for the people to evaluate us fairly.
"If we performed well, keep us; if we fail, we don't take care of the people's welfare...change us," he said.
"But the political thought brought by PN and PAS is that all these achievements are unimportant.
"(They say) There's no need to look at track records, to see whether it had been a good administration...most important is just victory for their people," he said. - Mkini
