Kelantan Pkr Women Urges State Govt To Probe Raunchy Bachok Concert
Kelantan PKR Women has called on the PAS-led state administration to investigate a concert held in Bachok on Nov 24 which allegedly featured “raunchy” performances.
Its chief, Nor Azmiza Mamat, said a video clip of the event circulating on social media showed Thai artiste Thungpang Chanoknan performing along with dancers clad in sexy attire.
“We understand that the concert was held in conjunction with the Loy Krathong Festival and, through videos posted on TikTok, it can be seen that the singer and dancers were dressed in violation of the state’s Entertainment Control Enactment.
“Therefore, we demand the Kelantan government to investigate the matter and take appropriate action,” Azmiza (above) said in a statement today.
She added that Kelantan PKR Women supports the enactment and wants authorities to implement stern enforcement on future concerts organised in the state.
“I believe the people of Kelantan do not want this enactment that we are proud of to be taken lightly and be only for show.
“Or is it that the concert in Bachok is exempted from the state’s Entertainment Control Enactment?” Azmiza asked.
The TikTok video shows the singer dressed in a mini skirt and a form-hugging top performing with a few dancers in front of an audience of hundreds.
The Loy Krathong Festival is a traditional religious celebration for the Siamese community in Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore who are largely Buddhist.
It is celebrated yearly, usually at a closed temple event; however, people of other faiths have been known to visit as well. - Mkini
