Kelantan Can Turn Its Forests Into Cash
Kelantan should go into logging and sawmilling in a big way. It should cut down its forests and export the timber to Japan and Europe. The state can easily earn RM1 billion a year and then it can tell Guan Eng to go to hell. Kelantan will have enough money it will not need to go begging to the Chinaman for funds.
NO HOLDS BARRED
Raja Petra Kamarudin
Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng is revealing the exchanges of letters between the Kelantan State Government and the Federal Government. This is meant to shame the Kelantan State Government and to prove to the world that since the state came under the PAS government 28 years ago its economy is in shambles.
The truth — and which Guan Eng did not reveal — is that all the 13 states in Malaysia need federal money to survive. Not a single state can survive without federal help. And this is not by accident but by design.
Guan Eng is violating the Federation agreement by refusing to give Kelantan the money owing to it
When the Federation of Malaya was created in 1948, the federalisation policy meant that certain matters came under federal jurisdiction and certain matters were retained under the states. Defence, security, foreign policy and tax collection were some of the functions that the Federal Government took over.
In short, the state no longer collected taxes. The federal government would collect the taxes and would then give grants, loans and development or development funds to the states.

What Guan Eng does not seem to realise is that it is the duty of the Federal Government to gives the states money. It is in the agreement when the Federation was created and when the states agreed to join the Federation. This is not a privilege that the states receive. It is a right under the Federation agreement.
Guan Eng’s act of mocking and making fun of Kelantan and revealing that the state has no money reflects very badly on him. This Chinaman is very sick in the head.
It is the duty of the Federal Government to ensure that the states have money. If the Federal Government refuses to give Kelantan money, then Kelantan might as well leave Malaysia and collect its own taxes because being in Malaysia defeats the purpose if the Federal Government is sabotaging the state’s economy.
Kelantan has forest reserves equivalent to 600,000 rugby fields
Anyway, Kelantan is sitting on 1.5 million acres of forest reserves worth an estimated RM50 billion. That can probably pay for the cost of running the state for the next 100 years. Kelantan can easily get more money by cutting down its forests and selling the logs or timber.
And if the Federal Government wants Kelantan to stop cutting down its trees, then make them pay for every tree that Kelantan does not chop down. Furthermore, Petronas has paid the Ministry of Finance the 5% oil royalty due to Kelantan but Guan Eng is holding back the money and refuses to pay Kelantan what is being owed to the state. Clearly this is an act of sabotage and Guan Eng wants the Malays-Muslims to suffer for voting PAS.
