IT GOES without saying that every customer would want to enjoy the best service available for the price they are paying. But what if there was a twist? Sometimes, it isn’t about having the best, but having the best of heart. 
Perhaps this statement best describes a recent viral video which highlights a very unique cafe. Known as Kafe Kamu, the cafe in South Jakarta hires only workers who are disabled or have down syndrome. 
This should be challenging for our fellow customers. Yet when we think again, Kafe Kamu is setting a vital tone by providing job opportunities to the people who were usually overlooked by employers, and this is huge.

Looking through the comment section, it was obvious that the business model of Kafe Kamu was overwhelmingly supported by netizens.

But netizen @Damien829 also raised his concern on hygiene. 

Food blog detikfood describe Kafe Kamu in detail, stating that customers who usually expect quick and efficient service will have to bring along their patience if they intend to dine there. 
The service method here is designed like a learning experience for the down syndrome workers, helping them to continue practising their memory and motor skills. 
“But there’s no need to worry. The quality of both the drinks and service remains well maintained to satisfy every customer who walks in,” said detikfood.
According to the food blog, the cafe owner came up with the concept after meeting with a representative from a foundation for individuals with down syndrome—Persatuan Orang Tua Anak dengan Down Syndrome (POTADS). 
Gabriel, the manager of Kopi Kamu Wijaya, explained that POTADS had set up a booth during an event in the Pondok Indah area, showcasing highly skilled baristas with down syndrome.
Unfortunately, these individuals had only been trained to prepare drinks, but had no permanent workplace or café where they could truly put their skills to use.
Believing the idea could help more people, the owner of Kopi Kamu decided to collaborate with POTADS to create more meaningful employment opportunities for youth with down syndrome. And the rest is history. — Focus Malaysia
