James Chin Kepong Mp Challenge Pas To Start Its Own All Halal Sans Alcohol Pas Airline

“MOON people will never understand and the Kepong MP is correct. If Moon wants a halal-airline, they should start one (on their own),” snubbed political commentator Prof James Chin in concurrence with DAP lawmaker Lim Lip Eng who yesterday (Oct 22) mocked PAS for its repeated call to ban alcohol on board Malaysia Airlines (MAS).
“BTW, someone tried it and it did not work out ,” teased the inaugural director of the Asia Institute at Australia’s University of Tasmania in a Facebook post while attaching an article by The Coverage which attributed the rapid demise of Rayani Air, Malaysia’s first Sharia-compliant carrier, to its strict no-alcohol policy.
Back to business, Madani backbencher Lim had ticked off PAS for incessantly harped on what he deemed as “undemocratic” proposal given the option to consume alcoholic beverages is an individual right afforded to non-Muslims.
“Even airlines from Muslim-majority countries, including those from the Arab world such as Emirates, Etihad Airways and Gulf Air also serve alcohol,” justified the lawyer by training in a Malaysiakini Facebook post during his Budget 2026 debate.
“To PAS, if you dislike it that much, I suggest you start your own airline, call it PAS Airlines. Let’s see how long it can survive before going bankrupt.”
Recall that PAS lawmakers Mohd Misbahul Munir Masduki (Parit) and Muhammad Ismi Mat Taib (Parit Buntar) had recently mooted a swap of MAS’ wine list with local favourites in the likes of cendol, sirap bandung and ais batu campur (ABC) – the colourful shaved ice dessert.

Interestingly, commenters from both sides of the divides could be seen sparring with one commenter likened Lim to “when a drunken men [sic] talk about safety” which elicited reaction of “at least write in proper English if you attempt to insult someone” by one Lydia Sheena Nathan.

This was when another profile-less commenter highlighted that broken English is no issue compared to “broken heart” when a family perished from an accident caused by a drunkard.
A commenter countered with “guns and alcohol found at the mansion of one Tan Sri” to convey the message that at the end of the day, it boils down to the individual’s own choice and God.
“Prefer not to disturb and interrupt others for better social harmony. Please RESPECT THE DIVERSITY!” he advised.
This was when Lydia returned fire with deaths from non-alcoholic elements, most notably that involving the notorious Mat Rempit.

“Equally important are all the gang rape cases, many live are ruined there. I read recently there has been a massive number of newborns being born & thrown into toilet bowls at schools. Tsk tsk … what say you now? Actually (you) don’t bother .”
Others wondered why PAS is not calling for a blanket ban on smoking to be imposed on Muslims for “it causes more deaths than alcohol consumption”, hence the verdict that “a drunken man is safer than extremist”.

Well, below are some experiences Malaysians have when flying other airlines:
