J Kom Chief Sees Pas As Toxic Threat To National Stability

Agus Yusoff, head of the community communications department (known as J-Kom), said PAS took an extremist approach which neglected the diverse society of Malaysia.
“I find the party (PAS) toxic and poisonous, and it can pose a danger to the country’s stability and prosperity,” he said in a Facebook post.
Ads by KioskedAgus said PAS showed a lack of tolerance and the inability to appreciate diverse opinions, with the party exhibiting a sense of infallibility.
“PAS frequently overlooks the essential reality that Malaysia is a multicultural nation, necessitating the practice of tolerance to uphold cultural harmony,” he said.
Agus urged voters in the state elections tomorrow to support the unity government led by Anwar Ibrahim, saying that the “ethnocentric, slanderous, and power-hungry nature of PAS’s politicking” had caused political fatigue among voters.
Agus said PAS’s thirst for power had made them blind to the strong relationship between Anwar and leaders of other component parties in the unity government.
He said PAS had disregarded the anti-hopping law and created the notion of government MPs defecting to join them in establishing a new government.
Agus, a former lecturer and political analyst, was appointed director-general of J-Kom in February. The agency is part of the Prime Minister’s Department. - FMT
