Yoodo - Malaysia’s first truly customisable and 100% digital mobile service is partnering with global gaming giant PUBG MOBILE to bring back Malaysia’s premier collegiate tournament – the PUBG Mobile Campus Championship (PMCC).
This announcement sets the battleground for more than 1,000 colleges and universities students from all over Malaysia as they go head-to-head for a shot at a total prize pool of RM60,000.
“As champions of grassroots gaming, Yoodo is always looking for more ways to empower young talented gamers with opportunities to grow and showcase their talent,” said Chow Tuck Mun, Head of Yoodo. “The inaugural season of PMCC last year received overwhelming response and was a great success in catapulting the winners of the tournament to the professional leagues. We are proud to be bringing PMCC back again, this time bigger and better than before.”
Looking to further enhance their support for grassroots talent, this year’s tournament features a special Caster Search. This will allow PUBG Mobile fans looking to get into the casting game an excellent opportunity and platform to kick-start their careers. The Caster Search, which will kick-off in tandem with the tournament will see selected applicants being chosen to commentate during the highly popular tournament to huge nationwide audience.
Commenting on the partnership, Oliver Ye, Director of PUBG MOBILE SEA said, “We’re proud to be partnering with Yoodo to bring this exciting tournament to college shores once more. We have always been dedicated to bringing the best action to gamers all over the world. Given how well received PMCC in 2019 was, we’re confident that the gamers this year will bring their A game for another successful championship this year.”
With the call to arms for the tournament made, teams of battle hardy young gamers will be able to test their mettle against fellow PUBG Mobile enthusiasts when the first round of qualifiers for PMCC 2020 begin between 31 October and 5 November 2020. Five qualifiers will be held across five different regions/zones across the country: Central (Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Putrajaya) South (Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Johor) North (Kedah, Pulau Pinang, Perlis, Perak) East (Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang) Borneo (Sabah, Sarawak, Labuan) The teams that emerge at the top of the battlefield will march on to their respective regional finals from 7 through 15 November 2020.
