Ice Cubes Issues Viral Causes Typhoid Be In Kuala Lumpur
Ministry sources viral on social media about allegations that typhoid fever in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur due to the ice cubes produced by factories operating illegally
The Ministry of Health would like to stress that under Rule 394A, the Food Regulations 1985, the Food Act 1983 all ice factory must be licensed by the Ministry of Health and any unlicensed ice plant will be subject to enforcement action. In this case, the owner of an ice factory operating without a valid license from the Ministry of Health shall be liable to a fine not exceeding RM5,000.00 or to imprisonment not exceeding two (2) years
Up to now, there are two (2) ice plant licensed by the Ministry of Health which supplies ice to food premises in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya. The Ministry of Health is carrying out monitoring of the ice plant includes carrying out sampling for analysis. To date, no ice sample was found to contain pathogenic bacteria
The Ministry of Health is to improve the monitoring and enforcement on an ice factory in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur
The Ministry of Health expects the public to report any suspected ice factory operating without a license to the District Health Office or your nearest Department of State Health Division website or through the Food Safety and Quality (BKKM) http://fsq.moh.gov .my or facebook BKKM http://www.facebook.com/bkkmhq
