AYER KUNING POLLS | Perikatan Nasional's candidate for the Ayer Kuning by-election appears to be taking a jovial stance against claims accusing him of using a BN member's image in campaign materials without consent.
Speaking to reporters at the sidelines of a ceramah in Ayer Kuning last night, Abd Muhaimin Malek said he does not like to make enemies and is open to making friends with everyone.
ADS"I'm a candidate for all the rakyat. I don't only visit PAS or Umno (supporters), I look out for everyone.
"I think I don't have to feel anything (regarding the accusations) as my heart is open to accept everyone, be they Malay or non-Malay, Muslim or non-Muslim," he said.
When asked if the disputed material would be taken down, the Tapah PN chief said he is unsure what the next plan of action will be, but assured compliance with any instructions received.
Yesterday, it was reported that a police report was filed at the Temoh police station over allegations that Muhaimin had used an individual's image for his campaign materials without their consent.
In her report, the wife of the man depicted alongside Muhaimin said her husband holds a position within the Temoh Stesen BN district polling centre.
The allegation is the latest hit against Muhaimin, who recently courted controversy over claims of him misleading Perak religious authorities to obtain his credentials (tauliah) to teach and preach Islam.
Ayer Kuning voters are set to cast their ballots on April 26, with Muhaimin part of a three-cornered battle for the Perak state seat under the Tapah parliamentary constituency.
He will be going against PSM deputy secretary-general Bawani KS and Tapah Umno secretary Yusri Bakir. - Mkini
