Hilman Steps Down As Pn Youth Info Chief

Gombak Setia assemblyman Hilman Idham says he wants to focus on Selangor PN’s preparations for the 15th general election.PETALING JAYA: Gombak Setia assemblyman Hilman Idham has relinquished his post as Perikatan Nasional (PN) Youth information chief.
He said he needed to do this as he wanted to focus on Selangor PN’s preparations for the 15th general election (GE15).
Hilman told FMT he had informed PN Youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari that he did not wish to be in the new PN Youth committee which was announced yesterday.
However, he remained the Selangor PN liaison secretary.
“Yes, there was an offer for me to remain in the leadership and I appreciate it,” he said.
“However, I’ve decided to focus my efforts on strengthening Selangor PN and Selangor PN Youth.”
Hilman was asked to comment on his absence in the list of PN Youth committee members released yesterday by Fadhli, who is also the PAS Youth chief.
Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal was appointed one of the five deputy PN youth chiefs alongside PAS’ Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden, Gerakan’s Wong Chia Zhen, STAR’s Kong Soon Choi and SAPP’s Jamain Sarudin.
Commenting on the list, Hilman, who is also international trade and industry minister Azmin Ali’s political secretary, said he was confident that Fadhli would be able to garner the support of the rakyat, especially the youth.
He said he had held discussions with top PN leaders to draw up a strategic plan for youths ahead of GE15, stating that a “sustainable strategy” was especially important in light of the implementation of Undi18. - FMT
