Gsf Four More Malaysians Including Heliza Helmi Detained

FOUR more Malaysians participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) humanitarian mission were confirmed to be on board ships intercepted by Israeli forces in Gaza waters this morning.
They are singer Heliza Helmi and her sister, Nur Hazwani Afiqah, who were on board the Hio, as well as Nurfarahin Romli and Danish Nazran Murad, who were on the Grande Blu.
According to the Sumud Nusantara Command Centre (SNCC) tracker system, the Grande Blu was intercepted at 12.58 am local time, while the Hio was at 2.34 am, about 60 nautical miles from Gaza.
As of 7.50am Malaysian time, a total of 17 Malaysians had lost contact with the SNCC after their ships were intercepted.
They include singer Zizi Kirana, who was on the Huga; Musa Nuwayri, Iylia Balqis and Sul Aidil, who were on the Alma; and Haikal Abdullah, Muaz Zainal, Zulfadhli Khiduddin and Rusydi Ramli, who were on the Sirius.
SNCC reported that, so far, 10 ships were under “attack” status, while 13 others had sent “emergency” signals.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has condemned Israel’s interception of the GSF, saying the flotilla symbolised “solidarity, compassion and the hope of relief” for Palestinians under blockade, but was met with “intimidation and coercion”.
“By blocking a humanitarian mission, Israel has shown utter contempt not only for the rights of the Palestinian people but also for the conscience of the world,” he said in a strongly worded Facebook post.
Anwar also vowed that Malaysia would pursue “all legitimate and lawful means” to hold Israel accountable, particularly in cases involving Malaysian citizens.
“The safety and dignity of our people are paramount, and we will not allow them to be compromised with impunity,” he reiterated. ‒ Focus Malaysia
