Grab Driver Asked Indecent Question Says Woman Passenger

A Grab spokesman said the company was aware of the incident after a passenger posted an account of her harrowing trip.PETALING JAYA: A 33-year-old woman has accused a Grab driver of harassment, saying that he asked her an indecent question about her breasts and later drove dangerously through darkly lit roads on a trip from Segambut to Cheras.
A Grab spokesman later told FMT that the company was aware of the incident and regretted it had taken place. Grab said it has a zero-tolerance policy towards such harassment, and offending drivers might by removed or suspended after a review.
The Grab passenger, Sheryll Fatihah, had posted an account today of her ordeal during the 26-minute journey on Saturday.
She said she was first asked by the driver if her breasts “were real or implants”.
At this point, she told the driver to stop talking. He complied. “He stopped talking but gave me glances through the rear-view mirror. He sped up through every bump to make things bounce,” she told FMT. “I think he was under the influence of something.”
Sheryll Fatihah, 33, spoke about her ordeal as a Grab passenger.Sheryll said the driver had also rammed into a divider after she showed him the intended destination on the phone. She claimed that the driver drove through darkly lit roads and gave stares through the rear-view mirror, throughout.
Fortunately, she reached her destination in one piece. “What would have happened if I had fallen asleep, or say, if the passenger was a woman who passed out in the back seat?” she said.
“What happened made me feel violated,” Sheryll said. “The driver should be banned from driving and prevented from any line of work where women are present.”
A Grab spokesman said users who undergo a similar experience should use the “Get Emergency Help” button on the app so that immediate assistance can be rendered. - FMT
