Govt Unfairness To Opposition Scares Away Foreign Investors Pas Mp

PARLIAMENT | A PAS representative today claimed that many foreign investors were reluctant to bring their business to Malaysia after seeing Putrajaya’s unfair treatment of the opposition.
Nik Muhammad Zawawi Salleh (PN-Pasir Puteh) said he knew this because he has many friends overseas and has spent about 10 years studying abroad.
“The deputy speaker earlier advised MPs to use our debate time to focus on issues related to our respective constituencies and such.
“But I want to ask, from the many times we had been focusing on issues related to our constituencies, what action has the government taken based on what we raised here?
“This is the kind of attitude that we have in this country, and it is also the reason why foreign investors from around the world have put many question marks on Malaysia,” he said.
Nik Zawawi, who is a member of the PAS central leadership committee, was debating the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar's decree at the Dewan Rakyat.
‘PAS can survive’
He further called the government to heed the king’s call to spur Malaysia’s economy by working together to build mutual understanding.
This includes taking heed of opposition MPs’ calls for fair allocation, he said.
However, Nik Zawawi stressed, that PAS is used to financial struggle and can still survive without government aid.
“I want to say that, if you want to give (funding), then we welcome it. InsyaAllah, it will result in good input for the country.
“(But) if you do not want to give, we are desperate. We in the opposition, especially PAS, have been surviving for the past several decades without financial backing (from the government).
“Today we have the highest number of MPs in Parliament. We have 43 seats, and so far none of our PAS MPs has been hopping between parties. None,” he added. - Mkini
