Ginie Lim Suspended From Alor Gajah Pkr Leadership Duties For 12 Months
Alor Gajah PKR division chief Ginie Lim had previously urged the PH leadership to nominate her as a parliamentary candidate in the 2022 general election.PETALING JAYA: PKR’s central leadership council has suspended its Alor Gajah division chief Ginie Lim for one year, effective Jan 7.
Melaka PKR deputy chief Rafee Ibrahim said the disciplinary action was the result of Lim’s alleged violation of the party’s constitution.
Rafee said Lim was now prohibited from participating in any decision-making processes within PKR’s state leadership council.
“We do not have any issues with this decision as she was brought before the disciplinary board.
“Members cannot violate any decisions made by the party,” he told FMT.
Rafee said the suspension confines her role to that of a regular party member.
“She was found guilty regarding two or three matters and this led to her suspension.”
He said this was a fair decision because members had to maintain party discipline and respect its constitution.
According to Malaysiakini, Lim first got into hot water after she spoke to the news portal, urging the Pakatan Harapan leadership to nominate her as a parliamentary candidate in the Nov 19, 2022 general election.
She also reportedly shared screenshots of a conversation on the subject with then party vice-president Rafizi Ramli.
Lim was also accused of drumming up local support for her candidacy within her division, getting them to wear T-shirts featuring her during a party event in Sungai Petai on Oct 25, 2022.
Lim had also reportedly been against nominating former Melaka PKR chief Halim Bachik, said to be an ally of PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, for the Dewan Negara. - FMT
