My comments :
So its another case of death in custody. Mati dalam tahanan. Who cares? 
I say dear reader, do you care? Tuan-tuan peduli ke? 
The fellow already suffered some serious problems in his life. That is why he became a drug addict. Then he ended up in the rehab center. But what happened to him was not rehab. What happened was he was 'stepped on his neck, the warden kicked his chest in - which caused blood to come out of the nose'.  Then he died.

So it was not the drug addiction that killed him. It was the rehab that killed him.
Although it does not say if the victim was a Malay, Indian or Chinese chances are it was a Malay. 
Malay or not Malay - another human life has been extinguished. Not by some criminal gangsters, not by the mad Taliban, not by the psycho ISIS, not by Chin Peng, not by Pastor K_h (yes I have not forgotten him), not by a violent robber or by some criminal.
The victim was killed by a Civil Servant. 
The other day, 6 really stupid idiots were sentenced to 18 years in jail, 12 more to three years jail  for killing a student at a university here in KL.  They suspected the student of taking a lap top and decided to torture and beat him up. The student died, the 18 idiots will rot in jail, their future destroyed. Despite making it to a university, the students killed another student.
Who are the parents of those 18 really foolish students? Who are their mothers? Their fathers? What happened in your house? How did you bring up your sons?
Dear reader, how are YOU (yes YOU) bringing up your sons and daughters today?   Will they also kill someone tomorrow -? Or close one eye? Will they do things like help kidnap and disappear someone like Pastor Koh ?  (No I have not forgotten him or the FIVE others). Or Altantuya. 
Because these things are happening in our country. And these crimes are NOT BEING COMMITTED by criminals, gangsters or foreign invaders. Remember Altantuya? Police were involved. Plus some very, very influential people. 
I see something very sick and very wrong with,  err.. err.. with YOU. The member (singular) of our society. YOU dont seem to care as much about this type of insanity that actually lies just under the skin of err..err.. YOU. 
There is no such thing as "dont exaggerate lah Syed, these are very few and isolated cases". 
Yes ah. You think so. Ok lah. So go and kick your own sons chest in. Kick him until you see blood coming out of your son's nose. If you dont have a son, go and kick your father in the chest until blood pours out of his nose.  Why the hell should you do that? I dont know. Maybe just for fun?  Dont worry lah. It will be a very, very isolated case. It does not happen all the time.
There is a larger underlying factor which hides these monsters under the skins of what would otherwise be considered ordinary people like err...err... YOU. That is the apathy or 'I dont give a shit' attitude towards others.

Apathy :  Apathy is a lack of feeling, emotion, interest, or concern about something. It is a state of indifference, or the suppression of emotions such as concern, excitement, motivation, or passion. 
If you see an accident victim on the road, the first question is 'What bangsa ah?'If someone says 'Wishing you a Happy ???" the first question is 'What religion ah?'
Then you have "religion".





Its against my religion. So why should I care?Its not my religion. So why should I care?
There is not enough civilisation in our society. Civilised behaviour is in short supply. Having the latest I-phone 13 or 14 does not make a person civilised. And your race, the color of your skin, your language can make you less civilised - without exceptions. It is called being racist. This word is found in the dictionary. I did not invent this word.
Religion certainly does not guarantee that you will even get close to being civilised. My own experience with religion is that it witholds the human race from becoming fully civilised. The packaging and presentation are fantastic. But the contents are 'Made By The Inmates'.
This will not be the last case of Civil Servants killing people in custody. Or the last case of university students killing fellow students. It will happen again.
Why will it happen again?
Because we are not fully civilised yet.  
Did you notice that road accident the other day? What bangsa ah?
