Gaggle Of Umno Leaders Spotted Trailing Zahid S Uk Work Trip
A slew of Umno leaders appeared to tag along with Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi during his four-day working visit to the United Kingdom, which kicked off on June 1.
Based on photos posted on social media, Malaysiakini has counted at least 12 Umno leaders currently in London.
Three of them are Zahid’s officers - political secretaries Megat Zulkarnain Omardin (Selangor Umno chief) and Razlan Rafii (Seputeh Umno chief), as well as press secretary Fadzmel Fadzil (Umno Youth exco).
Zahid's special officer Nicole Wong - who is an MCA leader - is also part of the deputy premier’s entourage.
Another leader present is Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki in his capacity as Mara chairperson - an office tied closely to Zahid’s rural and regional development portfolio.

They are:
Nazifuddin Najib - Langkawi Umno chief
Sharkar Shamsudin - Umno supreme council member, Pahang state speaker
Shahaniza Shamsuddin - Umno supreme council member, Maran Umno chief, Matrade board member
Nurul Amal Mohd Fauzi - Puteri Umno chief
Jalaluddin Alias - Jelebu MP, Negeri Sembilan Umno chief
ADSShahar Abdullah - Paya Besar MP and division chief
Abdul Mutalif Abdul Rahim - Petaling Jaya Umno chief
Ab Hamid Nazahar - Kuantan Umno chief
Most of them were spotted in photos posted by Shahaniza of Zahid’s meeting with Kelab Umno UK, which is understood to have taken place yesterday.

Meeting with Kelab Umno UKOthers were photographed at a speech Zahid gave yesterday at the University College London, regarding Malaysia’s leadership in Asean’s technical and vocational education and training (TVET) agenda.
In Shahar’s case, his social media shows that he flew to London on his own and arrived on May 29.
The Special Committee on Corruption chairperson said he will be attending meetings with financial agencies, think tanks, economic study centres, and Malaysians working at international firms in the UK.
Meanwhile, Zahid’s political secretary Megat Zulkarnain Omardin has said that the Umno figures paid for their trips out of their own pockets.
“Excluding (Zahid’s) officers, the rest of them paid on their own. They did not receive any funding from the Prime Minister’s Department or the Rural and Regional Development Ministry,” Megat told Malaysiakini.
Zahid’s four-day work trip aims to strengthen Malaysia-UK relations by focusing on TVET, tourism, and investment.
He is scheduled to launch the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign for the UK market today.
