From Kk Mart Sock Gate To Flag Gaffe Dap Mca Have Walked Straight Into Akmal S Trap

WE ARE at a point where the public cannot help but shake their heads at the political theatre unfolding within the unity government coalition.
The constant bickering between UMNO Youth and DAP is not only embarrassing but it is politically suicidal.
And at the centre of the latest storm stands UMNO Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Salleh, a figure who – whether by design or accident – has managed to turn himself into a “hero” in the eyes of many Malay voters.
It all began with the issue of defending the use of the word “Allah” (on socks).
Akmal took a stand with DAP together with MCA rushed into a fight with him. Instead of handling it maturely, DAP and MCA walked straight into the trap – attacking him and in the process handing the opposition more ammunition than they could ever dream of.

What did this achieve? Nothing but strengthening Akmal’s position while playing straight into the opposition’s hands. You think you’re scoring points but you’re actually scoring own goals!
‘Stupidity has to stop’
The same mistake repeated itself in the recent Jalur Gemilang controversy. Even before Akmal made a move, DAP jumped to react. Once again, the result is the same unnecessary quarrels, messy headlines and an image of a government tearing itself apart from within.
The real winners in all of this? The opposition. Their politics thrives on race and religion with UMNO Youth and DAP now doing the heavy lifting for them.

Datuk Lokman Noor AdamEvery clash makes Akmal look stronger, makes the Madani government look stupid, and pushes the Malay majority further away from Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s Madani administration.
Unfortunately, it also pushes non-Malays away from UMNO. If this continues, convincing the electorate to stand by this government will become an impossible task.
Let us be brutally honest – is this what UMNO youth and DAP want? To play tug-of-war with each other until the rope snaps and the whole government collapses into opposition benches? Because if that’s the plan, congratulations for you are halfway there already.
The people expect matured leadership in times of crisis – not childish brawls that weaken the very government they are supposed to strengthen.
It is time for Akmal and DAP to stop this stupidity once and for all before losing not just credibility but the power itself.
