Fgv Units Sued For Rm25mil Over Fraud Trespass Claims On Sabah Land

FGV Holdings said its subsidiaries were served with a writ of summons on Monday by an individual who alleged fraudulent transactions and continuing trespass on lease agreements for 41 parcels of native land in Sabah.PETALING JAYA: Two FGV Holdings Bhd subsidiaries, Sri Kehuma Sdn Bhd and Yapidmas Plantation Sdn Bhd (YPSB), have been sued over alleged fraudulent transactions and continuing trespass on lease agreements for 41 parcels of land in Sabah.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, FGV Holdings said its subsidiaries were served with a writ of summons on Monday by the plaintiff, Euggne Kousai, who is seeking damages amounting to RM24.9 million.
The filing added Kousai claimed to be the registered owner of the 41 parcels of land, which were held under native title.

The Kota Kinabalu High Court has fixed the first case management for April 13.
The global agribusiness and food company is one of the world’s largest producers of crude palm oil, accounting for 15% of Malaysia’s annual production. It is an affiliate of the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda).
FGV’s net profit for the fourth quarter slipped 37.72% to RM337.71 million from RM465.09 million a year ago. However, full-year profit for FY2022 was up 12.82% to RM1.32 billion in 2022.
At the close of trade today, its share price rose three sen to RM1.49, giving it a market capitalisation of RM5.44 billion. - FMT
