Fall Of Anwar S Govt After State Polls Not Impossible Tuan Ibrahim Claims
PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has purportedly predicted that the upcoming elections in six states could come as a threat to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s federal administration.
Harakah Daily reported Tuan Ibrahim as saying that the state polls this time around are “unique” and could threaten the federal government if Perikatan Nasional - led by Bersatu and PAS - were able to emerge victorious in five out of six states.
“If we can defend Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah as well as capture Selangor and Negeri Sembilan, God willing the federal government will be challenged and it’s not impossible that it will fall,” he was quoted as saying by the portal.
Tuan Ibrahim said this when addressing the Pahang PAS election committee at Al-Makmur Complex, Kerdau in Pahang yesterday.
However, he did not speak about Penang and merely explained how the state election results would affect support in the Dewan Rakyat.
Six states due to hold elections this year are Pakatan Harapan-held Penang, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan as well as PAS-ruled Kedah, Terengganu and Kelantan.
Elections in these six states are expected to be held simultaneously although the dates for the dissolution of their respective legislative assemblies differ.
At the event, Tuan Ibrahim, who is also Kubang Kerian MP, reminded PAS officers to always have obedience to Allah.
“The Islamic army will receive help from Allah due to the disobedience committed by the enemy.
“If it wasn’t for that vice, the Islamic army would not have more power than the enemy.”
Therefore, he called on the party’s election machinery to work sincerely and patiently when campaigning. - Mkini
