Dulu Boleh Sekarang Tak Boleh

Yesterday, Anwar Ibrahim kata:
“Turun ke jalanan ingat Perdana Menteri nak letak jawatan?”
Funny.
Because that’s exactly what he used to do.
Let’s rewind.
1998, Anwar kena pecat.
He didn’t stay quiet.
He didn’t just “move on.”
He led thousands onto the streets shouting “Reformasi!”
He was arrested. Locked up. Dapat mata lebam.
Tian Chua?
Bukan setakat turun ke jalan.
Baring atas jalan depan trak FRU.
BERSIH?
Thousands in yellow flooded Kuala Lumpur men, women, students.
Disembur water cannon.
All because they believed peaceful protest was a rakyat’s right.
So, when Anwar says street protest won’t change anything
Maybe he forgot: that’s how he got here.
He forgot it was the same rakyat, turun ke jalan demi dia.
He forgot it was civil disobedience that sparked Reformasi.
He forgot the power of voices united in the streets.
Now that he’s in power, suddenly turun ke jalan jadi “tak bertamadun”?
Suddenly rakyat bersuara dianggap pengacau?
Suddenly lawan dianggap penderhaka?
When it was him, it was perjuangan.
When it’s others, it’s fitnah?
Pick a lane, PMX.
When it was you, it was “hak rakyat bersuara.”
Now that it’s against you, it’s “cubaan jatuhkan kerajaan”?
You don’t get to rewrite the rules just because you’re in Putrajaya now.
And let’s be honest
I bet the “surprise announcement” will come just a few days before the demo.
Some new ‘gift’ or ‘bantuan’ thrown to the rakyat.
Not to help us but to stop us from marching.
Damage control disguised as generosity.
And one more thing.
If we can go down to the streets without fear today,
We should thank one person: Tengku Maimun.
The same Chief Justice who ruled that street demonstrations are legal
Not Anwar.
Not the Madani government.
Not MCMC.
Tengku Maimun last service for the rakyat.
This isn’t about forcing you to resign.
It’s about reminding you of what you taught us
that sometimes, real reform starts from the street.
You once said the rakyat must “buka mata.”
Well…Rakyat dah celik dah!
