Dr M Hadi And Muhyiddin To Share Stage Harakah Hails Turning Point
PAS-owned daily Harakah has described tonight’s rally in Kedah featuring former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, and Perikatan Nasional chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin as a potentially historic moment in Malaysia’s political landscape.
In an article headlined, “Is there a big announcement from Alor Setar tonight?”, Harakah proclaimed the “Himpunan Mandat Negarawan” as one Malaysians “are unlikely to forget”.
“Three major national figures will share the same stage to deliver their messages.
“Mahathir, who just celebrated his 100th birthday last week, appears tonight. His presence evokes deep respect for his decades-long leadership legacy and sacrifices for the country.
ADS“Also scheduled to deliver a speech is Muhyiddin, a figure remembered by the people for his firm leadership during the Covid-19 crisis and his efforts to champion the people’s voice through various caring initiatives.
“Hadi, an Islamic scholar and leader of the Islamic movement, is not only a prominent figure in Malaysia but also internationally renowned for his commitment to guiding the ummah through the Islamic agenda,” read the article.
Joining them on stage at the Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium are opposition leader Hamzah Zainudin and Kedah Menteri Besar Sanusi Md Nor.
‘Symbol of unity’
In addition to prominent political figures, the rally is expected to draw dozens of NGO representatives, amplifying its significance.

“With an all-black dress code, a sea of people is expected to fill the stadium tonight as a symbol of unity among the rakyat who are ready to rise and demand change.
“More than just a night of major speeches, tonight may also go down in history as Malaysians from all walks of life come together with a shared resolve to pursue a Malaysia that is more just, dignified, and sovereign.
“From the land of Kedah, the echoes of struggle and unity now ripple across the nation - this gathering is not merely an event, but the beginning of a great awakening for the future of our beloved homeland,” it added.
In June, Mahathir, in yet another move to “save the Malays” by restoring political dominance, announced the formation of a Malay secretariat committee described as a “big umbrella” for the community.
The announcement followed a meeting with several political leaders, including figures from PN, to discuss the committee’s formation.
Mahathir said the committee would serve as a platform to champion unresolved issues affecting the Malay community, matters he claimed the government has failed to address. - Mkini
