Don T Kill Wan Fayhsal S Political Career Says Bersatu Man
Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, the former Bersatu Youth chief, is vying for a spot on the 20-seat Supreme Council at tomorrow’s party polls.
(FMT) – Former Selangor Bersatu secretary Hasnizam Adham has urged the party’s delegates not to punish former Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal for having been critical of party president Muhyiddin Yassin in the past.
Hasnizam urged delegates to elect Wan Fayhsal to Bersatu’s 20-person Supreme Council at tomorrow’s party polls, adding that he believed Muhyiddin would be magnanimous enough to accept Wan Fayhsal’s criticism.
His defence of Wan Fayhsal came in response to a video clip in which the latter was accused of having described Muhyiddin as being irrelevant in 2022.
“There are those who have brought up Wan Fayhsal’s criticism against Muhyiddin’s leadership from a few years ago, but delegates should not kill his political career just for speaking out,” said Hasnizam.
Wan Fayhsal, who has crossed the age limit for the youth chief’s post (35 years), is vying for a spot on Bersatu’s 20-seat Supreme Council.
“Wan Fayhsal has proven his loyalty to the party’s struggle, and he should be given an opportunity to become a brave leader who will defend the party’s cause as championed by Muhyiddin.”
Hasnizam urged Wan Fayhsal to learn to control his emotions better and not talk ill of the party’s president if he is to be considered a viable leader for the future.
Hasnizam’s remarks came after Kota Siputeh assemblyman Ashraf Mustaqim Badrul Munir was shown in a video claiming that Wan Fayhsal had described Muhyiddin as being irrelevant in 2022.
Ashraf Mustaqim said he was highlighting this now as he wanted Bersatu’s members to defend the institution of party president.
