Dap Youth Slammed For Mocking Hospitalised Pas Leader In Poster

SELANGOR DAP Youth chief Woo Kah Leong sparked outrage by posting an edited image of PAS spiritual leader Datuk Hashim Jasin lying in a hospital bed.
The post is superimposed with a Gardenia bread loaf and the caption: PAS Mimpi Di Siang Hari (PAS Daydreaming).
The accompanying text mocked PAS ambitions in Sabah, stating: “PAS today is fond of fantasising. No one in DAP is interested in forming a Sabah government with PAS.
“Is PAS now celebrating diversity and pluralism? The answer is no. While PAS is currently led by figures who insult Sabahans with remarks about Gardenia bread, the party is still dreaming of forming the Sabah state government.”
Unhappy with the post, Selangor PAS Youth chief Mohamed Sukri Omar condemned the act as “rude and unethical”, saying insulting an ill leader was excessive and reflected declining political ethics.
“This kind of politics is outdated, immature, and should not be allowed to become part of the national culture,” he added.
(Photo credit: Sinar Harian)PAS Youth submitted a memorandum demanding Woo apologise publicly, withdraw the poster, and urged DAP to improve its political culture, stressing commitment to Mature and Prosperous Political Culture (BPMS).
However, DAP Youth fires back tit-for-tat, rejecting the demands as hypocritical.
“If PAS Youth emphasises political ethics, why have they never issued memorandums against their own leaders or members who often make racist, religiously hateful, or even more insulting remarks on social media or in ceramah?” they countered.
They accused PAS of inconsistency on BPMS while urging focus on policies over “unproductive fights”. DAP remains defiant, committed to “freedom to voice strong and harsh criticism”. — Focus Malaysia
