It is puzzling that DAP supports Anwar for Prime Minister when they are opposed to everything that Anwar stands for. Or is it that Anwar no longer upholds those values he used to stand for and instead, today, supports all those values that DAP stands for? In that case, Anwar now opposes the Islamic values or nilai-nilai Islam that he propagated in the 1970s and 1980s, just like what DAP does. NO HOLDS BARRED

(Focus Malaysia) – DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng panned Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s 100-day tenure in office, calling him an abject failure on many levels.
“This is shown by the Government’s refusal to provide an additional allocation of RM500 mil each to Sabah, Sarawak, Malays and non-Malay communities to ensure a balanced and equitable Budget 2022.
“Plus, the implementation of extremist policies advocated by PAS such as restrictions on gambling, sale of alcohol and beer on non-Muslims has further offended the sensitivities of non-Muslims.
“Such policies have openly disrupted the customary lifestyle and normal business practices of non-Muslims, leading to a sense of being treated as second class citizens,” he said, in a statement.

DAP continues to play the race and religion card and continues to demonize Islam by labelling Islamic values or nila-nilai Islam as ‘extremist policies’.
Islamic values or ‘nilai-nilai Islam’ has, in fact, been Anwar Ibrahim’s war-cry since the 1970s, long before he joined Umno in 1982. The excuse Anwar gave PAS and ABIM when he applied to join Umno was that Umno lacks Islamic values or nilai-nilai Islam and his mission is to Islamise Umno.
However, it would be impossible to Islamise Umno from the outside, so he needs to join Umno and Islamise it from the inside.
That was the reason, kononnya, as to why Anwar left ABIM to join Umno instead of joining PAS — since PAS is already propagating Islam there is no need to Islamise it any further.
The examples Anwar gave as to why Umno has strayed from the true Islamic path and needs to be brought back to the right path — and Anwar will undertake to bring Umno back to the right path — is the gambling and drinking that is rampant in Malaysia, even amongst Muslims.
Umno allows gambling and drinking, and private clubs are granted bar, disco, and slot machine licences where Muslims can dance, gamble and drink without any restrictions. Selangor Club and Lake Club were two clubs that Anwar mentioned as examples.
In fact, because of Anwar’s hard-line stand against what he called loose morals and sins, the press used to refer to Anwar as ‘firebrand Islamist’. And Anwar’s ‘firebrand Islamist’ image helped him rise up rapidly in Umno from a nobody to the Deputy Prime Minister after only 11 years, a world record of sorts.
So Islam — or his image as a firebrand Islamist — has served Anwar well. Anwar rode on the Islamic or firebrand Islamist platform to propel himself to the second topmost position in Malaysia.
But it was all a façade. The true Anwar was a man who indulged in corruption and sex orgies with men, boys, women, and girls. And DAP (as well as PAS-Amanah — they called Anwar ‘Al Juburi’) knew this. It was DAP who exposed Anwar’s gay lifestyle in Parliament and demanded that Anwar reply to the allegations of sexual misconduct against him.
One question becomes very pertinent here. Why does DAP support Islamist Anwar, the hard-liner firebrand Islamist who joined Umno so that he could Islamise the country? Was it not Anwar who led a demonstration of university students to oppose the use of all languages other than just Bahasa Melayu?
Did the Chinese educationists not consider Anwar ‘Enemy Number One’ of Chinese schools and Chinese education? Did not the church consider Anwar the greatest danger and threat to Christianity in Malaysia?
And that brings us to the second question. There was the pre-Umno Anwar of the 1970s. Then there was the Umno Anwar of 1982-1998. And now we have the PKR-Pakatan Harapan Anwar.
Are we seeing three different Anwars? Is the Islamist Anwar of pre-1982 no longer the Umno Anwar of 1982-1998, and is the Umno Anwar of 1982-1998 no longer the PKR-Pakatan Harapan Anwar?
