Cops Arrest One Of Two Men Seen Brawling In Viral Videos

PETALING JAYA: A 44-year-old man has been detained in connection with two viral videos of a road rage incident involving two men in Balakong.  Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said the suspect was arrested at Taman Putri Jaya in Cheras at about 4.20pm on Friday (June 21).  "The suspect admitted he was one of the men depicted in the viral videos
"He also said that he got angry after the victim jumped the traffic queue at a junction," he said when contacted.  

Checks at Kajang Hospital revealed that the victim's face and nose were fractured and his wrist broken, he added.  

"The suspect will be remanded tomorrow (June 22)," he said.  The videos – lasting 47 seconds and 20 seconds – shows two men getting out of their cars and starting a fistfight. Photos of one of them bleeding were also circulated.  ACP Ahmad Dzaffir had said police were aware of the videos, which were shot at Jalan Dataran Cheras 2, Cheras Traders, Balakong
"A report has also been lodged by police personnel but the victim has yet to lodge his report.  "Even so, we are still investigating the matter," he said.  He urged the victim and anyone with information to come forward and give their statements.  "We are classifying the case under Section 323/160 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and brawling," he said.  Anyone with information can contact the Kajang police district headquarters or the investigating officer Insp Hafizah at 016-606 0955.- Star
