Cops Arrest Drug Mastermind Who Acted Like Robin Hood To Cover Up Activities

(Bernama pic)PETALING JAYA: A man who acted like “Robin Hood”, offering people financial assistance and jobs, is believed to be the leader of a drug trafficking syndicate busted in the Klang Valley last week
He was arrested in a raid in Shah Alam, along with 5kg of methamphetamine, 200gm of heroin and 1kg of base heroin worth RM77.46 million. The drugs were seized in four raids around Selangor last week, Bernama reported. Police also seized more than RM1 million in cash.
“The main suspect was very slick and used his scrap metal business as well as several other businesses to cover up his operations,” Bukit Aman narcotics crime investigation department director Hussein Omar Khan said.
He said the syndicate mastermind has seven previous records for drug and criminal offences.
Hussein said police also arrested eight men, including two foreigners, after raiding a house and a scrap metal godown in Bestari Jaya, believed to have been used for drug processing.
Various drug-processing equipment and machinery were found at the godown.
Hussein said the syndicate was believed to have been actively distributing drugs in the Klang Valley area since January last year.
The raids were carried out after five months’of intelligence gathering.
Hussein said police also seized various assets under the Dangerous Drugs (Forfeiture of Property) Act 1988, with the total forfeiture valued at RM1.26 million.
The main suspect has been remanded for seven days until Nov 26, while the other eight suspects have been remanded until Nov 29. - FMT
