Compensate Relatives Of Covid 19 Victims Who Died Waiting On Vaccine Perak Pkr

Perak PKR has urged the government to pay compensation to the families of Covid-19 patients who died before they were able to receive their vaccinations.

Its information chief Muhamad Arafat Varisai Mahamad said the recent increase in Covid-19 deaths proved that the government had failed to manage the pandemic, which includes its vaccination programme.
“These (death) figures show the government is killing the rakyat with inefficient vaccine management.

"I urge the government to compensate the rakyat or the families of the victims who died in a condition where they could not be vaccinated, even though they were registered a long time ago and waited long," he told Malaysiakini.

The country is in the process of providing vaccines to its residents through various initiatives, but many people feel that the process has not gone as planned with the rollout perceived as being slow.
Arafat said in this situation, the Perikatan Nasional government could be considered as "killing its own people" for failing to manage the vaccination programme effectively.
Based on his experience, he said, some senior citizens had to endure a very long wait to get inoculated against the coronavirus.
"It's not just a month or two, but they were forced to wait up to nearly four months," Arafat added.

As of early this afternoon, a check on the MySejahtera application showed that 15.4 million people had registered for vaccination.
However, only about 4.2 million have received the vaccine.
Yesterday, the country recorded 60 new deaths due to Covid-19, bringing the death toll up to 4,408.

As of noon yesterday, there were also 63,815 active cases, including 880 placed in intensive care units with more than half of them requiring respirators.

In addition to that, information on vaccine appointments through MySejahtera also caused a lot of confusion for the public. - Mkini
