Cmco Extended In Kl And Four States

The Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) has been extended in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Penang and Kelantan for another two weeks from March 19 to March 31. - Bernama photo.KUALA LUMPUR: The Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) has been extended for another two weeks in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Penang and Kelantan from March 19 to 31.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said three states – Kedah, Perak and Negri Sembilan – that were previously under the CMCO, would be now under the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) for the same period.
"Selangor still remains under CMCO because most of the localities are still classified as red zones… all districts in Kuala Lumpur are also still red zones with an average 103 cases reported every day.
"Only 31.5 per cent of Johor and 33.3 per cent of Kelantan had turned green, with a majority still either red or orange zones while cases in Penang is on uptrend, hence, these three states also have to be under CMCO," he said at MCO update press conference today.
Ismail Sabri said the Kuala Muda and Kulim districts would be still under CMCO after as both the localities were still with active clusters.
"Same goes to Seremban district, it will still be under CMCO as it is still a red zone."
Ismail Sabri said Perlis, Melaka, Pahang, Terengganu, Sabah, Putrajaya and Labuan would remain under RMCO.
He added the CMCO in Sarawak will be until March 29.
However, interstate level is still barred nationwide, adding that inter-district travel is still not allowed in Sabah and Sarawak.
"Covid-19 transmissions in the country has been on downtrend, and have reduced by 43.7 per cent between March 1 and 12.
"The average daily cases recorded during this period are 1,468 cases, lower than the average 2,606 cases reported between Feb 15 and 28.
"Should the trend persist in the coming month and the infectivity rate remains at 0.87, daily cases will be reduced to 500," he said. - NST
