Clp Results To Be Announced On Aug 18 Says Board
The 1,992 candidates who sat for the 2020 certificate in legal practice examination can obtain their full results via the board’s e-LPQB link.PETALING JAYA: Candidates who sat for the 2020 certificate in legal practice (CLP) in April will finally get their results on Aug 18, the Legal Profession Qualifying Board (LPQB) has announced.
They can obtain their full results via the board’s e-LPQB link, CLP director Jamhirah Ali said.
She reminded the candidates that the results are final and neither appeal nor application to review their detailed results will be entertained.
“Official letters will also be couriered to the candidates to the addresses stated in their official registration documents,” she said.
Jamhirah Ali.Jamhirah added that those with conditional passes can register to sit for the special or additional examination for which the dates will be announced soon.
“Please be reminded that those with conditional passes can sit for their failed subjects for a maximum of three times only. You are not allowed to sit again if you have exhausted all three attempts,” she said.
For those who have failed, Jamhirah said they can register to sit for all five papers for the 2021 examination which is expected to be held later this year.
“For this category of applicants, those who have failed four times will not be allowed to sit for the CLP examination again,” she added.
The results were originally scheduled to be announced in June but the board said the movement control order (MCO) had affected its schedule as the offices had to remain shut.
The board also asked critics to stop censuring it for the delay in announcing the examination results, saying it was purely due to the complications brought about by the movement restrictions.
“Such circumstances are beyond the board’s control,” its chairman, attorney-general Idrus Harun said.
He explained that processing the results involved more than merely marking, summing up the marks, keying them into a system and making an announcement, as perceived by many candidates.
“The processes are much more intricate as they are governed by stringent protocols put in place by the board to safeguard, at all times, the integrity, credibility and accuracy of the results.” - FMT
