Britain S Tempest
Here is an interesting video. This is Britain's next fighter jet project - the Tempest. It is a 6th generation stealth fighter. A full size "mock up" has been made. The first prototype is expected to be in the air by 2025 and become operational in 2035.
With Britain leaving the EU (Brexit) and a new right-wing but multi-culturalist Prime Minister Boris Johnson in office, any ideas of this jet fighter becoming another Tornado or Eurifighter (in terms of being able to see the aircraft in the EU) may see a reset. However the Italian company Leonardo is developing the plane's avionics and MBDA is developing the missiles that will be carried by this plane.
The airframe and the engine (Rolls Royce) will be "home built".
The plane will be super advanced. There will be no instrument panel in the cockpit. All the controls will be in the HUD type (heads up display) visor / helmet. (Will they have a spare on board?)
The plane will carry drones which can be deployed in an attack and defensive mode. Little information is available about the size, speed and capability of these drones or how many drones the plane will carry or if there will be any recovery of the drones after deployment.
Another advanced feature of the plane is that the plane's computers can interact 'seamlessly' with other friendly planes, ground forces, ships and also satellites for a continuous feed and update of the combat area. The plane will have 'full spectrum' feed from the air, sea, land and space about the combat zone.
This technology was first developed and is already being used by the Israelis. A soldier on the ground can receive continuous images on his tablet from a helicopter or airplane of what is over the hill or wall. At the same time a foot soldier or tank can upload data about what they see on the ground.
This plane will also keep the British defense industry going. A major project such as this will definitely provide long term employment. Plus it will keep Britain on the cutting edge of high tech. Not to mention the number of Yemenis the Brits can still kill.
