The Rembau MP said he was concerned over tactics used by DAP, a component of Pakatan Harapan, to influence Chinese voters using “perang saraf” (psychological warfare)
“We’ll continue to look after the interests of the minorities in the country
“That’s why BN chose MCA’s Wee Jeck Seng as our candidate,” he told reporters when met at a meet-and-greet programme with residents in Serkat, Kukup, here
Khairy said efforts are now being focused on informing the Chinese voters in Tanjung Piai not to fall for DAP’s sweet talk
He said support from the young people for BN had improved as they are disappointed with PH for not fulfilling its election manifesto promises, especially those pertaining to repayments of loans to the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) and job opportunities
“They feel they were played out in the last general election,” he said
Six candidates are contesting in the Nov 16 Tanjung Piai by-election. They are PH’s Karmaine Sardini, MCA’s Wee Jeck Seng, Gerakan’s Wendy Subramaniam, Berjasa’s Badhrulhisham Abdul Aziz, and also independent candidates Ang Chuan Lock and Faridah Aryani Abd Ghaffar. - FMT
