Bersatu Moots United Opposition Front Backs July 26 Anti Anwar Rally
Bersatu’s supreme council has agreed for party president Muhyiddin Yassin to spearhead efforts in forming a united opposition front with parties outside the government bloc.
The move, according to the party, is aimed at establishing a common position on issues affecting public interest.
The proposal is expected to be tabled at the Perikatan Nasional presidential council meeting scheduled for this weekend.
In a statement today, Bersatu secretary-general Azmin Ali said the party also resolved to mobilise supporters for the “Turun Anwar” rally on July 26 at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur.
ADS“Mobilisation will involve all levels of leadership and members of the public to gather peacefully in the struggle to free the people from tyranny and to uphold the Federal Constitution and the laws of the country,” he said.

Azmin AliSeparately, the supreme council was also briefed on preparations for the upcoming Sabah state election, with Azmin saying the party is confident that Sabahans have been receptive and supportive of Bersatu and PN’s struggle.
He said party leaders have been instructed to step up ground operations in key constituencies ahead of the polls.
Meanwhile, Bersatu has confirmed its 2025 annual general assembly will be held from Sept 6 to 7 in Shah Alam, Selangor.
The event will be followed by a dinner on Sept 7 to mark Bersatu’s ninth anniversary, expected to be attended by over 2,000 guests nationwide.
The supreme council also approved a fundraising programme under the Infaq Bersatu initiative, which will be open for public contributions to support the party’s activities.
