Bersatu Man Harapan Chiefs Are Political Animals For Manipulating Royal Decree

Pakatan Harapan's top three leaders have been described as "political animals" for suggesting that Muhyiddin Yassin should resign if Parliament is not reopened soon.
In a statement today, Bersatu supreme council member Muhammad Faiz Na'aman said it was irresponsible of the trio to demand Muhyiddin to reopen Parliament because the number of people who are vaccinated against Covid-19 was still low.
"It is very irresponsible for these political animals to want Parliament to be reopened now... they know that the vaccination rate is increasing each day. Can't they wait for a little while more?
"If Parliament is opened now, everyone, from MPs to the cleaners, security guards and Parliament staff, will be exposed to dangerous new Covid-19 variants, regardless if they are vaccinated or not. More than 1,000 lives are at stake.
"We don't want a Parliament cluster to emerge and risk the lives of those in the high-risk group with chronic diseases," Faiz said.
He said that there was no need to pressure Muhyiddin to resign because Muhyiddin had promised that Parliament could reopen as soon as September, should the targets for the Covid-19 response be met.
"The statement from Istana Negara was in line with statements made by the prime minister (on the reopening of Parliament).
"The Yang di-Pertuan Agong did not agree that Parliament can reopen now when an emergency is in force," said Faiz.
Faiz said Harapan leaders were now "manipulating" the Agong's decree for political purposes and diverting attention from the nation's Covid-19 response.
"The statement from Istana Negara did not state that the Perikatan Nasional government had failed in executing its responsibilities.
"The proposals for a National Operations Council or the holding of elections or changing of governments was not raised by Istana Negara either," he said.
Faiz added that what Istana Negara wanted was for everyone in the country to work together to address the Covid-19 situation. - Mkini
