Azmin Fear Not Concocted Green Wave Tag Pn Represents All Races

Non-Malay voters should not fear the purported “Green Wave”, which is a term concocted by Perikatan Nasional’s political rivals, said Bersatu supreme council member Azmin Ali.
He assured that the coalition, led by former premier Muhyiddin Yassin, is committed to representing all Malaysians.
"Do not be scared of the ‘Green Wave’. It is just a tactic by certain groups to scare voters. PN is committed to implementing policies that will benefit all Malaysians," he said.
According to the New Straits Times, the former minister said this after holding an engagement session with news editors.
Contrary to its rivals’ portrayal of PAS, Azmin said the Islamist party has become more inclusive and moderate, which in turn has helped it win more seats.
"It (PAS) made significant inroads in the last election.
"The key here is moderation, progressiveness and tolerance. This is the stance taken not only by PAS but also PN," he added.
The “Green Wave” tagline emerged in the aftermath of the last general election, which witnessed PN making huge gains, especially in Malay-majority areas.
It is understood that the term was based on the main colour of the PAS flag.
Previously, even PAS organ Harakah used the same term “Gelombang Hijau” (green wave) before its leaders labelled it as Islamaphobic.
For example, on March 6, Selangor PAS liaison committee secretary Roslan Shahrir, in his statement published in Harakah, said the “Gelombang Hijau” will sweep across Selangor in the state election.
On Aug 12, six states will hold their respective elections. Of the six, three - Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Penang - are under Pakatan Harapan’s control whereas the others - Kedah, Terengganu and Kelantan are ruled by PAS. - Mkini
