At Last Eu Blacklists Saudi Arabia For Terrorism Financing And Money Laundering
European Commission added Saudi to blacklist terror financing, money launderingSaudi widely accused of vast sums flowing to Islamist terrorists and extremistsEU banks extra stringent checks on payments from listed jurisdictions
list includes Afghan, Ethiopia, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Syria, Tunisia, Yemenremoved from blacklist : Bosnia, Guyana, Laos, Uganda, Vanuatu
Some critics said the list was too soft
biggest dirty-money washing machines are still missing
City of London, its offshore territories, Azerbaijan
My comments : It is good riddance that the Saudi idiot crown prince has 'postponed' his visit to Malaysia. They may have stopped him at the airport and did a spot check on his luggage - to check for bone saws or carving knives.
A few days ago when reporters asked Tun Dr Mahathir what he would say to the Crown Prince when he arrived here, Tun Dr Mahathir gave a rather sarcastic answer that 'since the Crown Prince was visiting China and Japan first, Malaysia will see what China and Japan will say to the crown prince before deciding the same.'
This would not have been the type of answer that the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia would be expecting from the Prime Minister of Malaysia. I think that was the reason the Crown Prince cancelled his visit here. He is not too welcome.
I believe the Indonesians also were not too overjoyed to greet the Crown Prince. Jokowi is in the middle of facing a re-election campaign in Indonesia. Plus there is that nasty overhang of yet another Indonesian maid being executed in Saudi Arabia - she killed someone who had tried to harm her.
Coming back to the issue at hand - will Bank Negara Malaysia please wake up. The EU has added Saudi Arabia to a list of terrorist financing states. Can we please do the same? BNM is not too smart in this area. Please liase with the Police.
No doubt there is strong Salafi / Wahabi terrorist related activity in Malaysia. The Police have arrested Salafi extremists everywhere including in Perlis.
Talk is some of the Salafi bigwigs in the country have long been funded by Saudi Arabia. So Bank Negara do buck up. You could not detect RM2.6 Billion moving into and out of Najib's accounts. Just do a better job with terrorist financing and money laundering coming out from Saudi Arabia.
