Are You Clean And Untainted Hajiji S Aide Hits Back At Sabah Critics
The political aide of embattled Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor has hit back at politicians in the state who are demanding the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) leader’s resignation amid the alleged corruption scandal.
Abdul Rahman Md Yakub also asked the critics to reflect on themselves.
“The calls for resignation and the various criticisms voiced by Sabah political party leaders are nothing more than an attempt to seize opportunities for mere political publicity.
“To those who are loudly and boldly voicing criticisms right now, I would like to ask: are you yourself truly pure and untainted from all the issues you have raised?
“If not, what does it mean for you to speak out like a champion who is clean and full of integrity?” he asked in a statement this morning.
Although he did not mention names, it is believed that the remarks were aimed at Sabah Umno and Warisan, which are opposition in the state but aligned with the Madani government at the federal level.
Abdul Rahman (above) pointed out that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has guaranteed that a transparent and fair investigation will be conducted by the MACC without any interference.
Any further action, he said, would depend on MACC’s findings.
“So why are they still making loud demands and repeated calls? Doesn't this show that they lack respect and confidence in the credibility of the prime minister?
“This is akin to questioning and insulting the prime minister, even though they themselves are components of the unity government led by the prime minister. Who are they to question and insult the prime minister?” he added.
Madani concept
Abdul Rahman advised the political party leaders of the unity government to read and understand the Madani concept.
“Respect and confidence are two principles that are clearly explained in this concept.
“The current turmoil is a reflection of the failure of these leaders to understand and embrace the Madani concept,” he added.
On Monday, MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki said 15 individuals related to the alleged corruption scandal, including the whistleblower, have been questioned.
On Dec 3, the whistleblower released the full video recordings implicating several assemblypersons.
The whistleblower claimed the videos document discussions about returning alleged bribes given to the politicians to secure support for a mining exploration licence application.
A day later, Hajiji dismissed the corruption allegations as attempts to destabilise the state government and tarnish its reputation. - Mkini
