Arab Nations Reject Trump S Gaza Displacement Plan

An Arab nations ministerial meeting in Cairo on Saturday rejected any plans to relocate Palestinians from Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
The meeting was held at Egypt’s invitation and attended by representatives from Jordan, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt, along with the secretary-general of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation for the State of Palestine and the secretary-general of the League of Arab States.
In a joint statement, the participating countries expressed full support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land and their adherence to their legitimate rights in accordance with international law.
They affirmed their rejection of any infringement on these inalienable rights, whether through settlement activities, expulsion, home demolitions, land annexation, or the forced displacement and uprooting of Palestinians by any means or justifications.
Such plans “threaten the region’s stability, risk expanding the conflict, and undermine prospects for peace and coexistence among its peoples”, the statement read.
Saturday’s meeting comes in the wake of repeated calls by US President Donald Trump to resettle Palestinians outside their territories, including in Egypt and Jordan.
Meanwhile, the Arab nations expressed their support and look forward to working with the Trump administration in efforts to achieve comprehensive peace in the Middle East in accordance with the two-state solution and work to free the region from conflicts.
It also called on the international community, regional powers, and the United Nations Security Council to begin the implementation of a two-state solution, ensuring that the roots of tension in the Middle East are addressed.
The participating countries also reaffirmed the pivotal, indispensable, and irreplaceable role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, and the categorical rejection of any attempts to bypass it or limit its role.
