Apologise Or Face Suit Anwar S Aide Tells Zuraida Over Mafia Remark

(FMT) – Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, the political secretary to PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, has sent a notice of demand to Zuraida Kamaruddin claiming the party vice-president defamed him in a speech at a dinner in early December last year
Farhash’s lawyer, Nik Zarith Nik Moustpha, said his client wanted Zuraida to tender an unconditional apology, which was to be published in The Star newspaper, within seven days
“If you fail to comply with the above demand within the time-frame stipulated, we have strict instructions to proceed with legal action, for which you shall be further liable for damages, costs, interests, injunction and any ancillary orders the court may give,” he said in a letter of demand sighted by FMT
READ MORE HERE: Farhash-Zuraida Letter of DemandZuraida’s statements were made in a speech during a Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 dinner at the Renaissance Hotel in early December, held just after the close of the chaotic PKR national congress.In her speech, she had called Farhash “mafia” while claiming that the Perak PKR chief was preoccupied with ensuring he garnered official positions in the future
The letter claimed that Zuraida’s statement implied that Farhash was a gangster with criminal intent, willing to resort to violence and intimidation to achieve his goals
It also claimed she implied that Farhash was responsible for the brawl that broke out during the congress in Melaka
The dinner, organised by deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali, was seen as a retaliation to the party’s congress. This followed a walkout by his team midway through the second day of proceedings after speakers slammed Azmin during their debates
When contacted by FMT, Nik Zarith confirmed that Zuraida had yet to respond to the letter of demand
“Nothing from that side. We did mention seven days from the date of the letter, but we also understand the letter might have reached Zuraida later
“We’ll give a suitable period for her to answer but for now we haven’t received any answer,” he said
