Anwar Values And Ethics Distinguish Madani From Other Ideologies

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim delivering his speech during the opening ceremony of the national-level 2025 al-Quran recital and memorisation programme in Perlis. PIC BY BERNAMAKANGAR: The importance of the values and ethics championed by the Madani government sets it apart from other ideologies, especially amid current developments that challenge the fundamental values of humanity.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that while rapid development is essential for any nation, it must be built on a foundation of strong values and ethical virtues.
"Our country, for example, must be built on good values. That is why, in promoting and improving the understanding of Madani, we have some differences from the other development concepts that we discussed earlier.
"It is true that a country must strive towards rapid and fresh development. It must not be left out of all aspects, but it must be built on the fundamentals of value and ethics.
"This is what distinguishes us (Madani) from the other ideologies, particularly with the greed that is consuming the world, which is challenging the fundamental values of humanity," Anwar said in his speech when opening the national-level 2025 al-Quran recital and memorisation programme in Dewan Wawasan 2020 here this evening.
Present were Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli and Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Senator Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar.
Anwar urged Islamic clerics, leaders and civil servants to fully understand the true Islamic teachings contained in al-Quran as the fundamental development of civilisation and a Madani nation.
"At the same time, mastering languages, digital, and artificial intelligence. This requires us to be tactful or risk losing out.
"Officers at all levels must be competent and understand the concepts of management ethics, good governance, transparency and efficiency.
"Things that are supposed to be approved within two weeks must not take up to two months.
"This is fundamental to building our domestic economic resilience and embracing the importance of exploring new technology and disciplines, education, health and all fields," he said. - NST
