Bernama picRIO DE JANEIRO: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will highlight issues of poverty and the reform of global governance at the G20 Summit, taking place in Brazil today.
He is scheduled to attend the launch of the 'Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty', an important initiative aimed at eradicating global poverty and hunger.

Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, will voice Malaysia's concerns in two main sessions: Social Inclusion and the Fight Against Poverty and Hunger, and Reforming Global Governance Institutions.
Both sessions will serve as strategic platforms for Malaysia to express its views on social inequality and the urgent need to reform the international governance system.
In addition, he is set to hold bilateral meetings with several global leaders, including Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Sheikh Khaled Mohamed Zayed Al Nahyan, France President, Emmanuel Macron, and South Africa President, Cyril Ramaphosa.
These meetings are expected to strengthen diplomatic relations and open opportunities for strategic cooperation across various fields.
Malaysia, along with 16 other countries such as Singapore, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Vietnam, is a guest country at this year's G20 Summit.
The last time Malaysia participated in the summit was in 2015 in Turkey when it held the Asean chairmanship.

It also includes the European Union (EU) and the African Union (AU), making it a key platform for discussing global issues.
