Anwar Sends Legal Notice To Perak Pas Chief Over Lgbt Claims

(Bernama pic)PETALING JAYA: Anwar Ibrahim has issued a letter of demand to Perak PAS chief Razman Zakaria over his claim at a ceramah that the PKR president will promote a LGBT agenda, allow same-sex marriage and support the communist agenda.
In the letter delivered yesterday, Anwar gave the former Gunung Semanggol assemblyman seven days to respond and pay him RM5 million for seriously damaging his reputation, together with legal costs.
He also wants Razman to make an unconditional apology in the media of Anwar’s choice, and a written assurance that he will not repeat the allegations in any form, failing which legal proceedings will begin against him.
“These claims are prima facie, spurious, outlandish and preposterous. This is calculated to maliciously disparage his reputation in the midst of the general election campaign”, said the letter sent by his lawyer SN Nair.
In the letter seen by FMT, Nair said Razman had also alleged that if the Malays voted for Pakatan Harapan it would mean they were surrendering the government to DAP.
He said the allegations made by Razman and posted on his Facebook account and published by Malaysiakini meant or implied that among others things, Anwar had abused his powers as an MP, was deceitful, a traitor, a hypocrite and not a good Muslim.
Anwar said this had caused serious damage to his reputation as Razman’s Facebook post had attracted more than 43,500 views, 1,000 comments, 3,100 reactions and 256 shares as at the time the demand letter was sent.

Last week, Anwar sent a similar demand letter to former PKR member Faizal Effendi Hasim for allegedly making false, libellous and defamatory allegations against him through his TikTok account @mr_ari11. - FMT
