Anwar S Aide Wanted For Ampang Assault Untraceable Police To Refer Case To Prosecutors
(MMO) – Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak who has been named as the main suspect in an armed assault that took place in Ampang last week has yet to turn himself, Selangor police said today.
State Criminal Investigations Department Chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Fadzil Ahmat said investigators will refer to the public prosecutors’ office for further instructions.
“The prime suspect Farhash Wafa Salvador is still untraceable, and he is ordered to immediately come forward to assist investigations,” he said in a statement.
Farhash is the political secretary to PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the party’s Perak chairman.
Fadzil also revealed the complainant in the case has since filed a separate report to retract the initial police report over the August 31 incident.
The senior officer said the complainant was among a total of five of suspects, aged 22 to 38, who were arrested earlier this week in connection over the incident.
All of those arrested worked as Muay Thai kickboxing trainers.
He said four of them will be released on police bail later today after being in remand since Wednesday.
“One of the suspects, however, will be handed over to the Cheras police district headquarters after being listed as a wanted suspect for a drug-related offence,” read Fadzil’s statement.
This comes following the Merdeka day incident that took place at the Kompleks Sukan Arena All Stars in Taman Dagang Permai in Ampang.
In the incident, Farhash is said to have confronted a victim and pushed the latter’s face after both men bumped into one another at the sports complex which triggered an armed assault led by Farhash and 14 others against the victim outside the sports complex.
In a response soon after the incident, Farhash claimed that the police report lodged by the complainant over the incident had actually named his brother and not him.
Farhash had also accused the complainant of attempting to sexually assault his wife two years ago before promising to give his full cooperation to the police.
Previously, the political secretary was remanded for four days on July 16 over an unrelated sex scandal video controversy linked to PKR.
