 Baby products company Singapore Lactation Bakes says it is deeply sorry over the unintentional mistake and accepts full responsibility.

PETALING JAYA: A Singapore-based baby food vendor has apologised after putting up a video showing the Jalur Gemilang without the crescent moon, the third such case within a week.
Singapore Lactation Bakes, which had a booth at a baby products trade show at the Mid Valley exhibition centre in Kuala Lumpur, said it was deeply and sincerely sorry over the blunder, acknowledging the significance of the flag as reflecting Malaysia’s identity, heritage and unity.
It said the mistake was unintentional yet regrettable, adding that it accepted full responsibility. “Once again, we offer our heartfelt apologies and thank you for your understanding and continued support as we strive to do better,” it said in a statement.
The organiser of the TCE Baby Expo said it had shut down the exhibitor’s booth after the issue came to light, and that an internal investigation is being held.
“We want to apologise to all Malaysians over the incident involving one of our exhibitors, Singapore Lactation Bakes. We understand this issue is very sensitive and has offended many.
“Although the content of the video came from the exhibitor, we do not take this issue lightly. We ask for a bit of time and patience from the public to allow us to resolve the matter,” it said in a statement.
The incident comes after Sin Chew Daily newspaper published a graphic illustration featuring the Jalur Gemilang without the crescent moon, leading to a police investigation.
Sin Chew swiftly apologised over the “technical mistake” and suspended its chief editor and deputy chief sub-editor pending the outcome of investigations.
Kwong Wah Yit Poh is also being investigated over a Facebook post purportedly showing the Jalur Gemilang without the crescent moon. - FMT
