Aksb Lodges Report Over Leaked Letter On Bonuses For Staff Board Members
Air Kelantan Sdn Bhd (AKSB) has lodged a police report following the leaked letter on a purported bonus payout to its board and staff members, according to a source.
The letter is considered a classified document under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) 1972.
The source said a police report was made by an AKSB legal officer against two postings on Facebook by an individual known as Wan Mahussin Wan Zain.
“It is understood that a police report was made at the Kota Bharu police station yesterday,” the source close to the Kelantan state government told Malaysiakini.
Kota Bharu district police chief Mohd Rosdi Daud confirmed they received the report.
“I can confirm we received a report that was made on May 23 around 2.50pm,” he said when contacted.
AKSB senior manager Nazmi Ghazali Azmi also confirmed with the media about the report but did not delve into its details.
Malaysiakini previously reported that Wan Mahussin revealed a copy of the letter purportedly from AKSB about bonuses paid in conjunction with Aidilfitri.
The letter alleged that a bonus of RM10,000 was paid out to each of the nine board members and that a bonus of RM200 was given to every staff member while the company secretary received RM2,000.
When contacted, Wan Mahussin said he had been called by the police to provide a statement tonight, but he was not told what issue it pertained to.
Meanwhile, Kelantan Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia said the bonuses given by AKSB to its board members did not fulfil the concept of fiqh aulawiyat (understanding priorities).
According to the vice-chief, Saifulnizam Muhamad, AKSB had previously acknowledged that it needed a large fund injection to resolve the problem of water supply in the state.
Nazmi previously said the Kelantan water supply issue required funding totalling RM5.03 billion.
“As such, we urge the AKSB board members to correct this matter by making an official statement about this issue immediately and take responsibility if it is true that it happened,” Saifulnizam said in a statement today. - Mkini
