Akmal Thank You For Being Loyal To Poorest Umno Youth In History

UMNO AGM | Umno Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh has thanked his exco members for their loyalty during what he described as the “poorest” period in the wing's history.
In his winding-up speech at the Umno Youth General Assembly today, Akmal acknowledged that Umno currently holds the lowest number of parliamentary seats since the party's inception.
“I would like to thank the exco line-up […] for being willing to stand with the poorest Umno Youth president in history,” Akmal said, highlighting the challenging times faced by the party.
Umno currently only has 26 seats in the Dewan Rakyat, with no Youth wing representation in the august house.
Despite these difficulties, Akmal emphasised the crucial role of Umno Youth, describing it as the last bastion in defending the Malays, Islam, and the monarchy.
Addressing his outspokenness on issues in the country, Akmal went on to characterise Umno Youth as a “party within a party” and expressed his desire to maintain the wing's rebellious nature when it comes to defending its principles.
Akmal underscored the youth wing's commitment to its core values, even as the broader party navigates a period of political uncertainty.
“We at Umno Youth are the last bastion in defending the Malays, Islam, and the monarch,” he said.
Earlier today, Akmal also reiterated that Umno Youth would oppose anyone who touched on 3R issues of race, religion and royalty.
“I said this last year, I will say it again this year, Umno Youth can be friends with anyone. But if you touch on race, religion and rulers, we will fight you to the end,” stressed the firebrand politician. - Mkini
