Airasia Further Expands Connectivity To India Resuming Services To The Picturesque Visakhapatnam

AirAsia continues to expand its vast network in India, announcing the long-awaited resumption of flights to Visakhapatnam as the only airline in Malaysia to fly direct to the city



Commencing 26 April 2024, AirAsia will operate 3x weekly flights to the quaint, yet majestic city in the Bay of Bengal. As one of India’s many unexplored gems, Visakhapatnam, sometimes known as ‘Vizag’, has plenty to offer ‒ from its lush landscapes to its historical landmarks to traditional festivals, there’s much to explore. In addition to mouth-watering traditional Andhra cuisine, the city is a hotspot for thalassophiles all over the globe, thanks to its many serene beaches dotted along the coastline. Tourists from near and far also often flock to Visakhapatnam to catch a glimpse of its famed attraction ‘Dolphin Hill’, a towering hill that derived its moniker from the shape it resembles and can be seen from almost any part of the city.

The airline recently announced three other new routes to India that will begin operating this year ‒ Thiruvananthapuram in February, serving as AirAsia’s second route to the state of Kerala following Kochi, Jaipur in April and Ahmedabad in May.
