A Stray Dog A Cashier And A Country S Cultural Divide

IS IT a blessing or a curse to live in multiracial Malaysia? On one hand we have a diverse cultural landscape and a plethora of accompanying cuisines. On the other hand, we have several races and religions purportedly living in peace and harmony.
That is until a man discovers a dog guarding the front of a convenience store and decides to make an issue out of it as seen in a post on X by netizen @bckupacc99.
According to the man, the cashier in KK Mart should chase away the dog as it might threaten the safety of the customers. The cashier replied that she already tried to chase it away, adding that she will not beat the dog.

When she asked him for opinion on what to do about the dog, the man did not provide any, but instead continued with his previous statement, saying that she should have the initiative to get rid of the dog. So who is in the wrong here? The dog? The cashier? Or the man?
“Valid reason,” said @hvfizzzz who believed a wild dog should not be blocking the front door. “Just accept that in Malaysia, a lot of people are afraid of dogs,” he added.

Then there was @ManjitSinghG5, pointing out that the dog was not bothering him.
“Even if the animal did not disturb him, he has a problem. This is confirmed as the type that will have no issue when it comes to corruption,” he said.
Also, @Neykann remarked that KK Mart usually keeps dogs at the front of the shop. “The KK Mart at my residential area has four to five dogs lurking at the front of the shop,” he said.

A cheeky netizen added that he didn’t blame the dog for sitting at the front since that was where the air conditioning was located. Prompted by the video, @5flamr said KK Mart wasn’t being respectful. According to him, he never entered a KK Mart after the stocking incident.
As for the dog? The poor creature is peacefully oblivious to all the storm and drama centred around it. Ignorance truly is bliss. On another note, we can only hope the animal gets a proper home, at the same time, paving way for a more conducive environment for our Muslim friends. — Focus Malaysia
